115+ Years of History

Founded in 1907 as the Edmonton Caledonians Athletic Club

On April 11, 1907, local Scotsmen organized the Edmonton Caledonians Athletic Club to play in the Edmonton City Football League Series. The Caledonians played their first-ever match on May 13, 1907 against St. Paul's Football Club on the Second Street Grounds, losing 2–1. Two days later, the Caledonians would get their first-ever win, defeating the All Saints Recreation Club 2–1 led by goals from Patterson and Hope.

1909 Edmonton Caledonians

In October 1913, the Caledonians would win their first provincial title, capturing the Bennett Shield over the Calgary Callies at Diamond Park in Edmonton by a score of 2–0.Following the amalgamation of Edmonton's Caledonian Society and St. Andrew's Women's Association, the club was reorganized as the Edmonton Scottish Soccer Club on May 23, 1937.

2016 Challenge Trophy Winners

In 2016, we capped off an undefeated season by winning the Challenge Trophy to become Canada Soccer national champions for the first time — having previously finished as runners-up in 1992, 2012, and 2015.In 2019, our club was honoured by the Canada Soccer Hall of Fame as an Organisation of Distinction.

Major League Men

Competing continuously in the Alberta Major Soccer League (AMSL) since 1992, our first team has won the league eight times — most recently in 2023.In the winter, the first team plays in the EDSA Major League division.Team Staff

Edmonton Scottish 3

Our 'Edmonton Scottish 3' team serves as the entry point for players graduating from our affiliated youth program, Scottish United.The squad is currently working towards promotion to EDSA's Division 1. As part of our club's strategic vision, we plan to transition this team to a U23 squad by 2024/25, and a U20 squad by 2026/27.Team Staff

Masters & Legends

Beginning at 35 years old, players are eligible to play in our Masters program, where we field two teams — Major Masters and Premier Masters. While both squads play in EDSA in the outdoor season, the Major Masters choose to play in the VMSL during indoor.At 45 years old, our Legends program fields an 'Old Boys' squad. Similarly to the Major Masters, this program fields a team in EDSA during outdoor and in VMSL during indoor.
